RJ is a nice player, but I wasn't interested in taking his 16 million in salary. Nash, I wasn't especially interested in getting. Why would I pick up two guys that I can't use to pawn off for expirings for next year--when my team is absolutely terrible and no FAs will want to sign with me. Also, this years FA class is very good, so I am going to try to take advantage of that.

Overpaying what? Who says he has to sign a bunch of allstars in his first year? I wouldn't have picked Jefferson or Nash either...then again, I don't think I would've picked Andre Miller. I probably would've picked mostly 2nd round pick type players to fill out my roster. I would've then built the team through the draft and free agency like i did with my current Hornets team. He could very easily sign a solid player in Free Agency this year, and trade them away for draft picks.
Taking Richard Jefferson or Steve Nash right now would've done absolutely nothing for his team. I don't blame him for not picking them.

James told me I had to pick one of Nash, Miller, or Jefferson. So I went with the shortest deal.
