Picks I Liked
Round 1
03. Cleveland Cavs - Alexis Ajinca PF 7'0'' 205 19 C+ B C+ C C A
Im very surpsied Philly looked over him after the wrap he received in the draft notes. I beleive I even put him or said he may go number 1 if the right team lands it.
08. Minnesota Timberwolves - Jarvis Crittenton PG 6'4'' 222 21 B- C C+ B- C- A
Crittenton was a top prospect, I thought he would have went inside the top 5. Due to many teams already having a more than serviceable point guard, Jervis slipped down to 8.
13. Boston Celtics - Michael Beasley SF 6'7'' 210 19 C+ C+ C+ C+ C+ A
Beasley received awesome draft notes, however for some reason, he fell right into Bostons lap at 13. Amazing.
20. Cleveland Cavaliers - Tim Ohlbrecht SF 6'11'' 222 19 B- B- C C- C A
Tim is a unique player who has nice scoring ratings, however his defense definetly turns a few people away. His production this season will be one to keep an eye on.
22. Denver Nuggets - Eric Devendorf SG 6'4'' 220 21 C+ C+ C+ C+ C+ B
Devendorf has a rating line, that, with any potential will turn him into an all round super stud. Watch out.
Round 2
03. Seattle Supersonics - Dusan Sakota SF 6'10'' 215 21 C B+ C C C B
With a B+ inside game, C defense and B potential, I dont see why Dusan dropped down this far, amazing.
New Orleans Hornets - Willie Kemp PG 6'2'' 170 22 C+ B- C B- C- B
Why did Kemp drop this far down, he is a better point guard than Justin Cerasoli who was taken at 17? Why?
Denver Nuggets - Josh Wright PG 6'0'' 170 21 C B B- C D- C
Josh is another point guard, who is probably better than Willie, and fell tremendously. Not a point guard friendly draft I must say.
Picks I Didn't Like
Round 1
02. Philadelphia 76ers - Darrell Arthur PF 6'9'' 220 21 C+ C- B- A- B A
Eh, I think play should have taken Ajinca. I really do. Darrell is nice however I cant see him becoming quite the scorer Ajinca may become. But then again, he was after a defensive rookie.
09. Toronto Raptors - Brook Lopez C 6'11'' 230 21 B- C- C- B- C+ B
Lopez got taken way to high up in my opinion, he should have dropped to between 20-25.
17. Atlanta Hawks - Justin Cerasoli PG 6'5'' 180 18 C+ C+ C+ C+ C C
He has nice ratings until you bump into that C potential right at the end there. Maye he might turn out, we'll see.
Player Quotes after being Selected[/u]
Kevin Durant
"Im very happy to be playing in Philly next to Earl Clark, Darrell Arthur and Joe Crawford. We are young and like to play defense, this year will be enjoyable, I hope I can lead the team, and take us to the playoffs"
Darrell Arthur
"I was shocked when my name got called out because I thought Detroit had the second pick. When I was told of the trade, I understood why I was taken. Philly wanted my defense. We are young, and defensive minded with a great scorer in Kevin. This year, with Earl leading the team, we will go places."
Alexis Ajinca
"Man, I am very happy. I am proud, I taken in 3rd by Cleveland. I watch them on TV at home in France, and I see the dunker Iguodala, and Sergio who I have talked to. I am alson playing with Adams who I see on TV last year, and Tim Ohlbrecht to, another European. I am very excited."
Julian Wright
"I have the best inside game in the whole class and I dropped to 4th? Ahh well, Ill show the 3 teams that passed me up what they missed when I meet them during the regular season. They will be disapointed they passed me up."
Eric Gordon
"So, Ill be playing with Hakim Warrick and Greg Oden next year, awesome. I cant wait to hit the training room and start getting better. I want to learn off of these guys and become the best player I can be. I want to put up big numbers this year and show people what I can do."
