1. Fact or Fiction. After, Shaq retires Greg Oden will be one of the best centers in the league. Even though Dwight Howard, Troy Murphy, Ben Wallace, Johan Petro and Carlos Boozer are still around.
BeasLy : FACT. Look at the guy. 19 and already averaging 21 PPG, 10 RPG, and 3.5 BPG. That’s just nasty. I can tell already he will be one of the best players ever to play in the UBL.
Repole: Fact, one of the best no doubt. Whether he'll be the best is up for debate. I expect him to have some big training camps down the line and develup into a dominant player. At least an all-league quality player.
Tyson Chandler is one of the most underrated players in the league.
2. Fact or Fiction. The Atlanta Hawks don't get much recognition for their surprising 20-10 record. As well, Tyson Chandler is the most underrated player in this league and is easily a top 5 center.
BeasLy: FACT. The Hawks are one of the most exciting young teams. With guys like Telfair, Marvin, Louis, Chandler, ect. They can win now and in the future. And I don’t know about the MOST under rated player in the league, but he certainly is under rated and a top 5 center in this league. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get defensive player of the year this year.
Repole: Fiction. Chandling gives 12, 12, and 4 blocks every night, however fffensivly you'd like him to do a bit better to be considered elite. Until he's putting up at least 16 ppg, I don't feel calling him top 5 is accurate.
3. Fact or Fiction. With the Hornets trading for Brad Miller, and having some great drafts. By next year the New Orleans Hornets will be an elite team.
Brad Miller has been compared to a white Duncan, which is pretty surprising.
BeasLy: FICTION. I mean Brad Miller isn’t Tim Duncan here. They have a solid team right now and definitely will improve next season, but an elite team just doesn’t seem like it will fit the Hornets description.
Repole: Fact, the Hornets are already are a very good team, another year of experience and they'll be even better. Smith, Morrison, and Paul will all be even better next year. Scary isn't it?
Earl Clark has been compared to the great Magic Johnson.
4. Fact or Fiction. Being picked by the 76ers made Earl Clark very upset, but he isn't playing like it. In 10 years Earl will be one of the best PG's because of his rebounding and assist abilities. Not having great scoring ratings won't affect him much.
BeasLy: FICTION. I think Earl will be a solid player no doubt, but I think people are over rating him. I mean I can see him putting up numbers like 13 PPG, 7 RPG, and 9 APG in the future. No doubt that’s good, but I don’t think that makes him an elite PG.
Repole: Fact, Clark is already scoring 13 ppg thanks to his height. In the right system he can become a weapon offensivly thanks to his size and ball handling ability alone. I expected better rebounding and assist numbers from Earl though, that's my biggest worry to be honest about him.
5. Fact or Fiction. After, being hyped the 1st year by many to win the UBL championship. The Miami Heat will finally, win the championship this year.
BeasLy: FACT. With amazing players like Jamal Crawford, nothing can stop this team.
Repole: Fiction, so many good teams will compete with the Heat. They have a legit shot of course, but I don't feel comfortable picking them as champions.
The Wizards have struggled to get back to form from a couple of seasons ago.
6. Fact or Fiction. The Washington Wizards were top dogs for 2 straight years. Now they will drop off and just be another team in the middle of the pack. Especially, since they just suffered their worst sim in franchise history.
BeasLy: FICTION. Jamison and Arenas carry this team. In 2 years I’d be worried however.
Repole: Fiction, the Wizards have a great TEAM. Antonio Daniels is the key to it all, dishing out nearly 8 assists per game and not even turning the ball over once each contest. As long as the Wizards have him, superstar Gilbert Arenas, and 24 point per game Antawn Jamison they'll be fine. The Piston's didn't dominate the regular season in 04-05 or 03-04, but their team concept got them to the finals and won them a championship.
7. Fact or Fiction. Another underrated player that was traded away from his original team. Dirk Nowitzki is the best offensive player in this league. Even though he might not give it his all on the defensive end.
Dirk has to be one of the better power fowards in the league. Now, they are just trying to find their trash talking gm.
BeasLy: FICTION. Kevin Garnett is averaging more PPG and shooting better from the field. I’d say he is the best offensive player this year.
Repole: Fact, first off Dirk is a fine defender. An above average one at that. And though Dirk is slightly under 30 points per game, he's on a team crowded with scorers. Imagine him on a team where he's the only major weapon, and he'd be putting up near 35 points per game. He's an absolute monster, and possible the best player in the entire league.
8. Fact or Fiction. Last year he was declared a bust but he improved his defensive game. Nemanja Aleksandrov will be a star in a couple of years, as he has the tools and potential to be great.
BeasLy : FICTION. He’s no good. Solid role player in the future maybe.
Repole: Fiction, I do think Nemanja will be a very good player in the UBL, however star is overstating it. I could see a B- B- C+ B+ B- type Manja, and sure that looks sexy, but it's essentially Antoine Walker type ratings. I think his absolute peak is as an 18 ppg scorer.
The Chicago Bulls aren't playing well this season even with stars like Rudy Gay, Chris Bosh, Ray Allen and Amare Stoudemire
9. Fact or Fiction. Surprisingly, they are suffering from another horrible season even though they have 4 capable all-stars. The Chicago Bulls is the worst managed team in the league as they have 4 great players.
BeasLy : FACT. Allen is doing nothing close to what he is capable of. This team has all the tools, but aren’t producing.
Repole: Fact, Kyjuan has done a great job of assembling talent but he simply isn't using it right. He needs to trade Allen for a more defensive SG. If Allen is only going to contribute 15 ppg than he isnt helping with his poor defense. A point guard and some better depth would certainly help his cause. I think if KY traded Ray for a capable starting PG and some depth, and maybe even started gerald wallace he'd be in much better shape.
Danilo is tall, thats all I can really say.
10. Fact or Fiction. He was drafted high and after 2 years he still hasn't produced. Danilo Gallinari will be nothing but a UBDL project, who will not be able to play in the UBL.
BeasLy : FACT. I don’t know who that is and I’m too lazy to look.
Repole: Fiction. First off, Danilo was picked 13th, not particularily high. Even the caliber player he is now, he was certainly worth the pick. Danilo exploded this TC, he needs another few years to develup into a quality player, but at that point he will still be just 20. He still has tons of places to improve, personally I'd like him to up his inside, handles, and defense. If he does this over the next few years, which after his last breakout TC seems likely, Danilo will be a stud. Imagine a B B B B C point guard standing at 6'10.
