Game 1 in the 2006 UBL Pre Draft camp got underway today. Representing Boston were potential draftees Paul Davis, Rudy Gay, Sean may, Josh Boone, Raymond Felton, Darius Washington and Hassan Adams. Representing Miami were potential draftees LeMarcus Aldridge, Nemanja Aleksandrov, Adam Morrison, Torin Francis, Sergio Rodriguz, Sylvester Mayes and Ronnie Brewer. Rookies hypothesised to go in the first round were asked to participate, however only 17 accepted the invitation. Top 5 prospect, Rudy Gay put on a show, leading the Celtics with 18 points (7/17), 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks. Starting shooting guard and red hot shooter Hassan Adams lit up for 16 points, shooting a below average 5/13 from the field and 1/4 from beyond the arc. Josh Boone and Sean May proved their ability to rebound for the Celtics, combining for 27. May also swatted 3 shots. The brilliance of Rudy and power of May and Boone wasnt enough to get over the prospects representing the Heat. Top 10 candidate Adam Morrision tore Rudy Gay apart, putting up an amazing 32 points whilst shooting a scorching 13/19 from the field. Torin Francis and LeMarcus Aldridge, just like Boone and May pulled down their fair share of rebounds, 25 respectivly. Amazingly, Aldridge almost recorded a triple double, adding 15 points and a rediculous 9 assists to his 14 boards and 3 blocks. Game 2 will be held tomorrow. After the Heats 15 point win in game 1 of the pre draft camp, the potential draftees representing Boston came out hard in game 2 to snatch a comfortable 12 point win, tieing the series up at 1-1. Game 1 MVP Adam Morrision saw 28 minutes this game, 4 minutes less than the last, however managed to put up a poor 4 points from 2/9 shooting. LeMarcus Aldridge had yet another strong performance, piling in 28 points (12/22), 15 rebounds and 3 blocks. Sylvester Mayes also put up solid stats after his lackluster performance in game 1, showing a line of 21 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds. European Nemanja Aleksandrov decided to show up in game 2, putting up a solid, reassuring and healthy 14 points, along with 8 rebounds and 2 steals. The winning Celtics had a top performances by Darius Washington who put up 25, 8 and 3, turning the ball over zero times - the best point guard in the class? Maybe. Rudy Gay once more put up solid numbers of 23 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Throughout the tournament, Josh Boone and Hassan Adams have proven to be turn over hounds despite the two's great play. Game 3 will be held tomorrow. New starters and scoring options will be selected. Matchups will also be changed aswell as second and thirs string positions. In the deciding game of the 3 day Pre Draft Camp, the rookie prospects representing Boston took home the championship, defeating the Miami Heat represents by 12 points yesterday. LeMarcus Aldridge had yet another stellar perforamance, putting up 20 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists in the loss. Adam Morrision bounced back from his poor peformance in game 2 to score 15 points. Torin Francis finished the tournament off with a solid 12 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks. Serio rodriguez proved his point as potentially the best point guard at the camp, leaving numbers of 11, 8, 3 and 3 in front of UBL GM's. Nemanja Aleksandrov had another solid performance putting up 8 and 8, enough to show scouts he has the potential to become a great player in the league one day. Hassan Adams led the Celtics to victory scoring 27 points (10/14). Darius Washington had a stellar all round game, dropping a stat line of 21, 7 and 7. Josh Boone let lose also, scoring 19 points (7/17), grabbing 19 rebounds, dishing out 5 assists and swatting 3 shots. Raymond Felton finished off his disapointing weekend with 8, 6 and 5. His week long performance resulted in a huge stock plummet, pushing him outside of the top 10.
