The News: After a strong showing at the under 19 European Championships, Italian point guard Danilo Gallinari has declared himself available for the 2006 UBL draft. At only 18 years of age, Gallinari will be the youngest prospect in the draft class, and many beleive he has the potential, over time to develop into a great player. Gallinari is a great athlete for a European much like Nemanja Aleksandrov and can play the 1, 2 and 3 spots. He has a streaky outside shot and uses his size to his advantage, often taking smaller point guards down low to the post.
His Game: Gallinari is a great reader of the ball, on both the offensive and defensive ends. Interceptions are all to common in Gallinari's game, however on occasions, he tends to gamble to much. He is a solid off the ball defender, however will have trouble guarding smaller point guards. Danilo is an above average rebounder and likes to handle the ball a lot, often to much as his passes tend to stray wide on occasions. Many European scouts beleive Gallinari could be the best international prospect in this years draft, however he tends to rely on his great outside shot for points. Nevertheless, Gallinari looks like an interesting prospect and should garner some interest between many UBL GM's.

"An excellent 3 point shooter, however he is very inconsistent"
"A great scorer for a point guard who also likes to get his team mates involved"
"A below average defender who needs to work on his footspeed if he doesnt want to be a defensive liyability in the NBA"
