After winning the MVP award at the UBL Pre-Draft Camp, rookie power forward LeMarcus Aldridge's stock has been fueled through the roof. UBL draft expert James Fazzino has placed him as potentially the 4th overall pick behind Rudy Gay, Darius Washington and Adam Morrision.
From stock rising, to stock falling, former UNC point guard Raymond Felton's disapointing showing at the UBL Pre-Draf games dropped him out of the top 10 in James' mock lottery. His assist/turnover ratio was not impressive and his lack of fouble digit games has led to the quick drop.
Late entrance Danilo Gallinari from Italy has climbed up the rankings this week. After not even being mentioned in first round talks, the tall and lanky point guard has been mocked to go inside the top 20.
Nemanja Aleksandrov started the year off as the number 2 prospect, however has fallen down to number 8 right before the draft. No need to worry, he still is considered a top draft pick with potential, however better peroformances in the pre draft games by fellow draftees such as Hassan Adams, Darius Washington and Adam Morrision led to the drop.
Six foot 5 point guard Uros Tripkovic has seen a massive drop in his stock, falling from 15th, all the way down to 25. His unwillingness to pariticpate in private work outs, aswell as his lackluster performances in Europe have led to the recent down surge. Still, many scouts still see him as a solid role player, if not starter in the late future.
Marko Tomas, Sammy Mejia and Darius Washington have joined Uros and have voted in favour of not participating in private work outs. Tomas and Mejia will be unavailable, and Darius Washington is implementing a no work out plan, much like Gerald Green last year - who fell way out of the lottery. A smart move? Only time will tell.
Sylverster Mayes and Sergio Rodriguez will now be battling it out for first point guard chosen in the draft due to the stock drop of Raymond Felton. Rodriguez, considered more of a pure point guard may get the nod over the score first guard in Mayes, however team needs and personal interprutations will settle the debate.
After winning the lottery, the Booston Celtics have 2 choices. Either take the best player available in either Rudy Gay or LeMarcus Aldridge or settle fo settle for the potential best player in Nemanja Aleksandrov or Darius Washington. Sources have it that Gay will be taken first to give the Celtics a Greene, Green, Gay, Jefferson foursome. Scary.
Despite the stellar ratings, Gullermo Diaz has not been mentioned in many draft talks. The scoring machine is possibly the most athletic in the class, howeevr many scouts beleive he lacks true ball control and court smarts to take his game to the next level.
Sources have it that Rudy Gay will be taken first in the 2006 UBL draft by the Boston Celtics tomorrow.
Questions marks have risen over the potential and work ethic of big name forwards LeMarcus Aldridge and Torin Francis. After staring in the pre-draft games, scouts now beleive Aldrige and Francis are already at their prime.
Rumours have it that the Lakers have already commited to taking UNC point guard Raymond Felton with the 4th overall pick in the draft.
Taj Gray performed to a T in his private work out with a disclosed team. His fundamantals seem to be in line and he is a great worker.
Nemanja Aleksandrov is sliding down the draft orders according to draft experts. Once being mocked to go 2nd, Nemanja is now ranked 8th in the official draft list and was left out of the lottery by another draft expert. Where will the young Euro fall?
JJ Reddick's stock went through the roof after recent scouting reports detailing him as one of the best shooters the draft has ever seen. Will his potential make him the best pure shooter in the UBL?
More notes coming soon. James.
