I was lucky enough to watch some games on the weekend which involved some of our prospective draftees. I only managed to fit in a few questions, however I thought I would let you guys know how it went.
Brandon Wright: 21 points, 8 rebounds, 4 blocks
James: Great game Brandon.
Wright: Thanks a lot. I played hard this game and we got a pretty easy win (27 points). He rested me the whole second half though as you saw to give me some rest and to avoid a possible injury.
James: Yeah, your inside game looked great today, I mean you scored 21 points in a single half shooting the ball at over 70%, thats got to look good for the scouts.
Wright: Yeah, I had a good game today, my shots were falling. No disrespect but I wasnt playing in the post against the greatest opposition, even so Im happy with my performance.
James: Thanks Brandon, Ill let you go back to the change rooms.
Wright: Ok, thanks man, peace.
Demond Carter: 7 points, 16 assists, 7 steals
James: Lovel game Demond, you really took control of it and helped your team to a nice 7 point win. Congratulations.
Carter: Thanks man, I tried creating as much opportunities for my team mates to score as possible. I love dishing the ball off, Im a pass first point guard.
James: Your shot was a little off today, you couldnt get your jump shots to connect, tough luck on that.
Carter: Yeah, they werent falling for me today, Im working on them though, shooting 500 shots per day to get ready for the pre draft tournament if I get invited.
James: One last question before I let you go, where do you see yourself falling in this years draft?
Carter: Tough question, people have been saying the second round, however I think in the first, like Nate Robinson when he was drafted. Im quick and am smart with the ball, I think teams will appreciate me.
Earl Clark: 18 points, 10 assists, 10 rebounds, 6 turnovers
James: Nice game Earl, you managed to notch a triple double up for the scouts, however your team didnt qute get over the line.
Clark: It was a tough match, especially going up against Demonds team (Carter, above), but next time we will get them.
James: Speaking of Demond, you used your height over him to your advantage, was that the game plan?
Clark: Definetly, he is rather small and me being a 6'9" PG created matchup problems.
James: Ok, thanks for that Earl, I look forward to seeing you at the pre draft tournament this year.
Clark: Aite, see ya.
Wayne Ellington: 42 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 6 turnovers
James: Wow, you really did put on a show tonight, I mean a between the legs dunk during the play?
Ellington: Yeah (Laughs), Im a showman, I wanted to entertain the crowd.
James: (Laughs) Yeah well, I was entertained. You scored 42 points however shot under 35%. Your shooting was off?
Ellington: Yeah, it was but you have your nights and you dont. Im just happy we walked away with the W.
James: Allright, it looks as if your coach needs you, Ill let you go. Later, see you at the pre draft tournament.
Ellington: Aite, peace dogg.
