Danny Granger has lead the Hustlers to a 10-3 start
When the General Manager of the Indiana Pacers, KidYungn for those who aint know, sent in a request that their 1st round draft pick Danny Granger be sent to the developmental league, David “Play” Stern took a few days to reply. He accepted Erazem Lorbek immediately but delayed on Danny Granger. The delay was due to making sure the teams are fairly even, but after talking with KidYungn through emails, he was finally convinced to allow the Stud to join the South Bend Hustlers, Indiana Pacers Developmental Team. This of course gave the South Bend Hustlers a big advantage over the other teams with such a skilled player being sent down. Danny Granger was supposed to be drafted in the lottery but managed to slip to #17 along with Gerald Green. When Granger was drafted he was expected to come in and make a immediate impact so when he was called into GM KidYungns office before training camp, he was told he was being sent to South Bend Indiana to Join the UBDL team. Granger was said to be upset and not happy. Saying he would rather sit on the end of the bench then be disrespected and dropped down the to Developmental League. He said College was developmental enough, im ready for the NBA. So KidYungn allowed him to play in the preseason for the Pacers and Granger showed he is not NBA ready just yet averaging 7ppg and 4rpg in 30mins of action. So a few slick words from KidYungn and Granger agreed to join the UBDL team.
Granger said he would rather rot at the end of the bench than join the South Bend Hustlers.
When sent down, Granger was thinking to himself that he was going to have to do everything for the team but that was changed at the first practice. He met power forward turned Guard, Chandler Barlow the very first day. The 2 were called into the coaches office and were told they were to be the leaders of the team and take every game serious. So the 2 became very close friends since then. Practicing with each other every day and helping each other during games. The very first game was against the Lisgar Frost and Danny Granger showed that he had no intentions of cooling off. Dropping a game/season high 39points 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Barlow had 14points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds to help DG out. The 2 showed great on court chemistry together that is uncanny. The chemisty carried over to the 2nd game against Talking Rock Farmers. DG once again carried the majority of the load dropping 36points 4 assists and 4 rebounds. Chandler pitched in a lot this game as well scoring 31 points and dishing 4 assists while grabbing 9 boards. Game 4 was against the Compton Thugz and Chandler Barlow brought out the bitch in the Thugz. Scoring 32points, dishing 9 assists and grabbing 13 boards. Remember this is a power forward playing the Guard position. Oh yea, he shot 3-5 from 3 point range. A Big Man turned guard that can pass the ball, rebound, score and shoot the lights out. He may have a future in the UBL but lets not get to happy as it is only a developmental league. But Chandler Barlow and Danny Granger are proving to be light years ahead of the competition.
Danny Granger is currently 6th in the league in scoring, 9th in assists, 5th in FG attempts,10th in FT attempts,5th in 3pt attempts. Proving to be a complete player on both sides of the court. Granger is silencing the critics that said he cant play defense by only allowing 1 player to score more than 21pts in the season so far. That was the 1st game via Luke Jackson who had 24points on 10 for 22 shooting.
Granger and The Hustlers have a lot to celebrate about.
