(I got tired and don't feel like doign the West. WIll do tomorrow morning, biatches)
Atlantic Division (very strong division, with 6 teams = to or better than .500)
The Sun Block are winning with no real “stars”; Jawad Williams is leading them with 17 a game and they are winning the close games. Look for him to possibly get a contract by the end of the year.
The Lacoochee Cockmongers are tied with the Sun Block for best record in the division. They are dominating downlow with Wayne Simien putting up Webber-like numbers of 21-11-5, but he has to lower his league leading 5 turnovers per game. Brandon Hunter a surprise with 17-9 from the C spot.
The forward combo of Scheader and Banks is keeping the Hitmen alive, accounting for more than 1/3 of the team’s scoring. Beals needs more minutes; he is getting 9 points in 14 minutes, but he is currently injured.
The Great White Shooters are alive in Allentown. Kyle Korver and Matt Walsh are dominating for Play’s own D league team. They are both shooting great and scoring over 20 points per game, accounting for about half of the teams scoring. Walsh’s 6 assists don’t hurt either.
Belmont is having great perimeter play from the trio of West, Blackshear, and Gomes. All 3 of them have been labeled tweeners, but they seem to have all found a spot that they can strive at. Look for West to be one of the better backup pgs in the league one day.
Curtis Borchardt is the Ben Wallace of the UBDL. He is 2nd in the league in blocks and boards, and is getting help from David Lee and Royal Ivey to get this team to a .500 record.
Who the hell is Earl Barron? That’s probably what Salisbury’s GM said after seeing the twig-thick 7-0, 100 pounder put up 18 and 10. Carl English, form Hawaii U. is also scoring 10 a game, and they aren’t bad for being the last team in the division.
Central Division
South Bend, like South Beach, is at the top of their division. With 5 guys averaging double digit points, you better believe this team is dangerous. Danny Granger is trying to get MVP honors with his 23-6-5-2 average, and his good friend Chandler Barlow is chipping in with 20 a night.
Toronto is led by the great all around game of CJ miles. He is getting plenty of help from his frontcourt, where Freije, Slokar, and Boumtje Boumtje Boumtje Boumtje Boumtje are all averaging double digits.
Talking Rock (WTF? Is that really a place?) has the leagues top scorer, Donta Smith. He is getting 26 ppg with his B+ inside rating. Ricky Minard is adding 17 to the mix, and this team is clearly led by its two guards who love to score in the paint.
Milwaukee is full of people with funny names. Neil Yanke, Odartey Blankson, Sung-Yoon Bang, and Roney Turiaf all sound weird. But anyway, with Ronny getting double doubles, Sato handling the scoring, and Ford running the team, they are in good shape.
5th in blocks, Dwayne Jones is controlling the paint for NO. Bass is a surprise, scoring 17 a game, and Macijauskas is 3rd in the league in assists, but they need more defense. In the end, they have Luke Walton, and that is all that matters in life.
Pape Sow needs some help in Chicago. Too bad he couldn’t have Ben Gordon and Luol Deng down there to help him like his GM proposed cuz they would probably score 30 a piece down here.
The Lisgar Frost are allowing 95 points per game. That is simply pathetic. Their 2 stars, Luke Jackson and Kevin Martin are both scoring over 24 points per game, but they have no help. Until they commit to playing defense, this team won’t go anywhere.
The swingmen on Detroit are playing alright, led by the 35 year old UBDL lifer Mikell. Rawle Marshall is a chucker, but he is cool because his first name is pronounced just like my last name.
