Midwest Division
The Knoxville Bombers are winning games by almost 10 points per night. They have the best backcourt in the UBDL, with Beno Udrih getting 23-4-6.5 and Luther Head getting 23-8-4. They could use some interior scoring though, so big man Morris needs to step it up.
Julius Hodge is leading the league in assists and leading the Lawyers to victories. It can’t be too hard to get assists when he has Kleiza and Vroman playing well at the forward spots. Julius should be a great partner for Melo in the future.
The Italians, who need a new name because Repole was randomly kicked out by Hammi for “being a bitch”, have the 3rd leading scorer in former Minnesota standout Kris Humphries. Ersan Illyasova is proving to be a nice scorer too, shooting 42% form 3 land. Whoever inherits this team has a future.
Former HS standout who everyone complains about not playing in real life, Ndudi Ebi, is finally getting minutes, but only getting 10 ppg. On the other hand, the backcourt of Moore and Wright is proving to be nice, for they are getting a combined 37 ppg. Look for someone to sign Wright eventually (unless I’m an idiot and he already is.)
Glasscock has had no one sent down, and thus suck. Chandler Charles is getting 16 ppg, but he has no one else in double figures to make it easier for him.
My favorite name, the Austin Powers, are allowing Lampe to dominate. People may now look back and be pissed that they let him slip into the 2nd round years ago. Also, Joe Forte, who dominated oversees in the NBAE, is disappointing with only 10 ppg.
The Houston Apollos need someone to be added to the team, for they need a scorer bad. Sucks that Kelenna got bad advice and declared for the draft.
Pacific Division
Dijon Thompson is proving the critics wrong in that he can do more than shoot. While his 3 point game hasn’t been stellar, he is still getting the job done, and getting 7 boards to boot. Rickey Paulding also a pleasant surprise with 18 a game.
The Weed Seeds are ironically led by the often lazy power forward Chris Taft. His 18-11-3-1-1 nights are nice, and he has Biedrins and Ellis around to help carry the scoring load. Look for this team to take over the Pacific soon. Plus they have Schenscher, the awesome Aussie.
Free agents Keith Bogans and John Lucas are leading the Compton Thugz (had to have the Z to make them look more gangster) to a winning record by leading the team in scoring and assists. Pavlovic is looking like a solid shooter, nothing more.
With no American college players on the roster, the JailBlazers are led by 2 High Schoolers in Blatche and Outlaw (what an appropriate name for a guy on this team). Foreigner Viktor Khryapa is also contributing well with 18 and 7.
The Hollywood action have one of the better pro prospects on their team in Von Wafer. He is scoring nearly 24 ppg on 48% shooting, and once he comes up into the UBL look for him to backup Kobe for a full 48 minutes of scoring from the SG position. Like always, the formerly proclaimed “next NBA superstar” Darius Rice continues to disappoint.
Normally good shooters Chris Thomas, Kennedy Winston, and Richie Frahm aren’t shooting the rock well at all, and this is leading to them losing. This is what happens when they don’t have a big man to rebound their bricks.
Lastly, the Ice Dogs are last in their division because they aren’t even shooting 41%. Kyle Davis is the lone bright spot, getting 18 and 7 for this lowly team.
