UTAH -- A dissapointing start to Free Agency for the Utah Jazz, who saw Amare Stoudemire and Yao Ming both resign, and Emeka Okafor join the Bulls. A furious Jazz GM was quoted as saying "It's fucking bull shit. Free agents dont want to come here just because we're in the middle of no where, they don't realize we're the next big thing."
This guy doesn't seem to mind Utah
After being dissapointed and left without a center for the team's future, Repole rebounded by trading for 21 year old Eddy Curry. The price however was not cheap, trading last year's 6th overall pick Martell Webster, and giving up any chance at having cap for next year's free agent class featuring Lebron James and company.
Sorry Jazz fans, LeBron isn't coming to Utah anytime soon
The acqusition of Curry seems like a perfect one for the Jazz, who stay young while acquiring the frontcourt help they need. No longer do the Jazz have to rely on major improvements from Webster in order to contend this year, and now Utah can rest knowing they have three stars in the frontcourt locked up for at least the next four years.
Curry gives the Jazz three 20 point scorers in the frontcourt
"Curry, Boozer, and Kirilenko will be together for a long time, and hopefully will grow together to form the best frontcourt this league has seen since the Parish McHale Bird days," commented Repole in his press conference.
The next great thing since Parish, McHale, and Bird
The biggest question remaining for the Jazz is currently at SG. Danilo Gallinari is the favorite to win the job despite his natural position being point guard, but the Jazz also drafted Gullermo Diaz who will give Danilo some competition for the starting job. Signing a free agent is also not to be ruled out, though the shooting guards remaining aren't anything too spectacular.
Great expectations for Danilo
Despite uncertainty at the two, the Jazz remain one of the most feared young teams in the league. With a dominating frontcourt featuring Curry, Boozer, and Kirilenko getting passed to by Deron "The Next Kidd" Williams, teams have reason to fear the Jazz. When the offseason is finally complete, the Jazz may be the most improved team in the league, which is scary considering they were already one of the best.
