The Wallace family are looking for a home in LA now.
With the Season just days ahead, Lakers GM Hamadani was worried about his teams' defense, or the lack of it. Last year, the Lakers were top 5 in most allowed PPG, and that needed to change this season if they want to make a strong playoff push. Ben Wallace is a proven Defensive force, as he's won multiple DPOTY awards throughout his career. The Lakers hope he can bring the same fire and aggression he played with in Detroit, to Los Angeles. The newly aquired draft selection Raymond Felton will have things easier down low, as Marty and Ben Wallace will be posting up downlow, as Kobe and Mason are tearing up things from the perimiter. Will this be the only change the Lakers do during the offseason? Is this enough for a title run? We'll have to wait and find out, because Hammi is actively shopping around for new talent that can contribute from day 1.
Ben will be guarding the best PFs in the league, as he moves to the West Coast.
With great PFs like Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett, will Ben Wallace have trouble guarding them? "Im very positive about my abilities against great PFs. I don't fear nobody and Im gonna show that on the court" said Wallace. Ben had a good chemistry in Detroit City, and he will need to adapt to the Lakers' style of play, which is run run, and run. Felton wasn't selected for nothing, as he's proven in college that his style of play is pure fastbreaks. Ben Wallace will be running with the bulls this season, as the Lakers hope to make a strong playoff run. Kobe Bryant has guaranteed the people of Los Angeles a title this year. He's a man of his words but this kind of promise can make or break him here in Los Angeles. GM Hamadani however, said that things will be going slow from now on, and that with the addition of Ben Wallace, he hopes to bring in some more talent without giving up important roles on the team. Kobe Bryant wasn't here to comment on the official trade, but Im pretty sure that he's happy with what they got.
Wallace tasted the ring before, is the time here again?
The only guys on the Lakers roster that have ever won a Title in the big league are Kobe Bryant and Ben Wallace. Sure, Wallace's salary will be cut in half by the end of the year, but that does not downgrade his skill as a PF/C. He's probably the most underrated PF in the league right now, because not many great PFs have tasted a ring, besides TIm Duncan. Ben Wallace will give them experience come playoff time, and along with Kobe Bryant, who Im hoping will put all ego's to side, will coexist with the Beast to make this LA team the better one once again. There will be a press conference tomorrow at noon, with Ben Wallace, GM Hamadani and surprise Lakers players. More news about the Lakers tomorrow, thank you.
Every year baby...
