Durant is ready to be this years number 1 draft pick
1. Philadelphia 76ers
*Kevin Durant SF 6'10'' 205 21 B- B C B- C+ A*
- The 76ers don’t really have a position they need, because they need 3. Play is a big fan of Durant, and Durant looks to be on of the best players in the draft. He will be an impact player in 2-3 years, with great scoring and decent defense. Durant and Clark will form a great duo for many years in that 76ers backcourt.
2. Detroit Pistons
*Alexis Ajinca PF 7'0'' 205 19 C+ B C+ C C A*
- This is a tough pick for the Pistons, probably why they are shopping it around. Alexis is the obvious choice, however they already have Sean May at the PF and Villanueva at the SF. Their only real weakness is at the Center spot, but there are no worthy centers are the #2. I expect the Pistons to make a trade or two either before or after the draft. If they do decide to keep Alexis, I don’t think it will be a mistake. He has the talent to be a Dirk type player.
3. Cleveland Cavaliers
*Julian Wright SF 6'8'' 218 20 B+ C C+ C+ C B*
- Another team that is lacking a true Center. No center will be taken this high however. The Cavs also seed a better SF. That’s why I think they will go after SF Julian Wright. Julian can get to the inside and jam like no other. He also can handle the ball well for a SF. His defense is not that good right now, but it is the category that goes up the most with good TCs. Should be a very solid player in the future.
4. Seattle Supersonics
*Jarvis Crittenton PG 6'4'' 222 21 B- C C+ B- C- A*
- With no real threat at PG, it seems like an easy pick for the Sonics. However, I think the GM has other ideas. With Rashard and Kenyon on the block, it seems as though the Sonics GM wants to go after Darrell Arthur or Julian Wright, if the Cavs pass him up. But with Crittenton, you can’t go wrong. Although his ratings don’t look like much, he has amazing potential to become a stud. Is a project, however.
5. Golden State Warriors
*Eric Gordon SG 6'3'' 185 19 B B+ C- C- C- B*
- With the loss of Snyder and Jameer, the Warriors are in look of a new back court. A perfect player to start that off with would be Gordon. A scoring beast, he will be a good scorer in his 1st year. His defense scares many away, but many GMs would take the risk that it could improve. If Darrell Arthur is still available here, it will be tempting to have the Arthur/Oden combination. But Oden and Gordon would be a sick scoring duo.
6. Indiana Pacers
*Darrell Arthur PF 6'9'' 220 21 C+ C- B- A- B A*
- If Arthur is still available when the Pacers pick, I’m sure that is who they will take. Arthur alongside JO would be a sickening front court. Arthur is a defensive and rebounding stud. He’ll be able to swat many balls and grab a lot of rebounds. Seems like a perfect fit for the Pacers.
7. Los Angeles Clippers
*Roman Gumenyuk C 7'2'' 230 19 C+ C+ C- C+ C A*
- In need of a center, Roman would be a good pick for this team. However the fact that he is foreign may scare the Clippers away. But if his potential is true, he will be a great player. His rebounding is not very good, but he will be able to score bundles of points. I have a feeling his defense will also get into the B area, which is decent defense. Their biggest weakness is SG, but their aren’t any worthy of drafting at this position.
8. Minnesota Timberwolves
*Keith Brumbaugh SF 6'8'' 190 21 C+ C C A C+ B*
- The Twolves really have some holes. Their only player worth keeping would be Carmelo. Brumbaugh is a nice pick to move to SG. Plays amazing defense, and is compared by many to Ron Artest. Will be a great player in the future and will be on many All defensive teams over his career.
9. Toronto Raptors
*Tim Ohlbrecht SF 6'11'' 222 19 B- B- C C- C A*
- With no good SF’s, the obvious choice for the Raptors would be Tim Ohlbrecht. Very much like Gordon, he will score a lot but not play too good of defense. If Ohlbrecht’s potential is really A, than he has a chance to be the steal of the draft. With great height and athleticism, he should be able to dominate on the offensive end.
10. Cleveland Cavaliers
*Michael Beasley SF 6'7'' 210 19 C+ C+ C+ C+ C+ A*
- Already projected to draft Julian Wright, the weakness on the Cavs is still the Center position. However, there still is no good centers that will be available with this pick. Michael Beasley is the best player available at this pick. Has a chance to be a great player or a no body. Very all around player who can pretty much do it all. If his potential is in the 85+ area, he will become a star in the league. Also if Julian doesn’t turn out right, Beasley would be able to take over and is also available for trade bait.
