Full credit goes to WillC for the article idea.
#1 - Rudy Gay SF 6'8'' 222 22 B B- C B+ C A
Gay was the number 1 pick from the get go. Due to the new CBA, this years draft was weak and I wanted to portrey it here in the UBL. I wanted Gay to become a star, however not a real 'superstar' and I guess it worked. I wanted him to become a better scoring Ron Artest. He panned out to near perfection.
#2 - Adam Morrison SG 6'9'' 225 21 B- B+ C C C+ A
Adam Morrison was an intregueing player to create as I didnt specifically have any goals for his intended outcome. I knew I wanted him to become a pure scorer, however not a 30ppg scorer, around about 20-25ppg. He is putting up 20 now for the Lakers and isnt a dominant player which is what I had planned.
#3 - Darius Washington PG 6'1'' 170 21 B B C- C D A
The best player in this years draft, in hindsight is Washington who was drafted at #3. Beleive it or not, however I expected Washington to be this good. I hyped him up a fair bit to. I wanted Darius to be an amazing scorer who was basically so quick he was near unstoppable. He is still a lackluster defender which was all in the plan, however his offense makes up for it.
#4 - Raymond Felton PG 6'1'' 199 21 C+ C B+ B D+ A
I didnt plan Felton to be as efficent as he currently is. Rating wise at the time, he should have fallen to about 10 or so however due to Hammi's mad obsession, he went 4th. He has had some fantastic TC's and right now, is a top 5 prospect in this years class.
#5 - LeMarcus Aldridge PF 6'11'' 230 20 B C C B B B
Aldridge developed to perfection. I didnt want him to be a star at all. My draft notes say "a solid 12 and 9 player" and thats exactly what he is. In saying that, why the hell did I draft him then!
#6 - Josh Boone PF 6'10" 237 20 B- D+ C- B+ B+ B
I created Boone as basically a one dimensional rebounder/defender and he turned out just that.
#7 - Torin Francis PF 6'11'' 252 21 C+ D+ C B+ B+ A
See Josh Boone.
#8 - Sylvester Mayes PG 6'2'' 190 22 B- C B- B C- B
Mayes really didnt develop. I loved the pick for the Clippers on draft night so much knowing Mayes would turn into possibly the class' best player however he didnt. Very disapointing, however he did turn out pretty decent.
#9 - Hassan Adams SG 6'4" 200 21 B- B- B- B- C- B
I simply wanted Adams to be a solid player who in his prime would get you 10-15ppg off the bench. I think I accomplished that in him. He began with beautiful ratings however never really maximised his decent potential to become a bit better than what he actually is.
#10 - Nemanja Aleksandrov SF 6'10'' 220 18 C+ C+ C+ B- C A
Didnt, develop, at all. Im pretty sure I gave Nemanja potential in the 90's. He just blew up. I wanted him to turn into a 20, 8 and 5 type of player but he didnt capitalise on the amount of potential that I gave him which was disapointing.
#11 - Sergio Rodriguez PG 6'3'' 178 20 C+ C+ C+ C C- A
Rodriguez developed to a T from my creation details. I wanted him to be a sensational passer however he exceeded that by becoming a special all round player. Rodriguez in hindsight is a top 5 player in the class of 2006.
#12 - JJ Reddick SG 6'4" 290 21 C- A- C C- C- C
I dont know why Reddick was taken so high up, however he certanly hasnt done anything major in the UBL like the draftees above.
#13 - Danilo Gallinari PG 6'9'' 190 18 C C+ C+ C C A
Gallinari entered the UBL with an amazing amount of hype. Somehow, he picked up even moor hype when he was dsrafted by Utah inside the lottery. A fierce rivalry then developed between himself and Sergio rodriguez, only to see the Spaniad walk away with the win. Although many label Danilo as a bust, there is no way he is. He has developed a good amount, just not as much as the hype warranted. When creating Gallinari, I really did want him to be a superstar. I guess just like Nemanja, Danilo got the wrong end of the potential.
